About the Internship
Verustruct is hiring a paid mechanical engineering intern to support the design, fabrication, assembly, and testing of mechanical subsystems for our construction robots. You’ll work directly with our hardware team on live prototype development and own scoped projects that move from CAD to real hardware.
This is a hands-on role for someone excited by robotics, fabrication, mechanisms, and the future of how buildings get constructed.
What You'll Do
- Model parts and assemblies in Siemens NX for robotic construction subsystems
- Support mechanical design for automated formwork, locomotion, material handling, consolidation, and auxiliary tooling
- Help fabricate, assemble, and test prototype hardware in our shop
- Document designs, run tolerance checks, and support DFM/design reviews
- Assist with hardware bring-up, test setup, iteration, and failure analysis
What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- Comfortable in a CAD package (Siemens NX preferred) and on a shop floor
- Curiosity about robotics, fabrication, or the built environment
